Comparative Analysis of the Factors Affecting Willingness for Self-Sufficiency between the Two Categorized Groups According the Health Recognition of the Self - Sufficiency Program Participants

Abstract

This study has the two goals of the analysis. First, the study has tried to make a comparison of characteristics between ¡®the healthy recognized group¡¯ and ¡®the non-healthy recognized group¡¯ according the health recognition of the selfsufficiency program participants of in Incheon. The differences in the sociodemographic characteristics and the experiences of beneficiary in the National Basic Livelihood Security System could be not found. But, in comparison to ¡®the non-healthy group¡¯, ¡®the healthy group¡¯ is more positive in terms of household debt, existence of spouse, yearly gross income of household, satisfaction with the present self-sufficiency program, attitude toward work and continuous participation in self-sufficiency programs. As a result, in comparison to ¡®the non healthy group¡¯, ¡®the healthy group¡¯ is more positive in willingness for self-sufficiency. In the second step, the study has tried to analysis the differences of willingness for self-sufficiency and factors affecting willingness for self-sufficiency between the two groups. In comparison to ¡®the non-healthy group¡¯, ¡®the healthy group¡¯ is more positive in willingness for self-sufficiency, namely the intention to employment and business start-up. After regression analysis, sex, or/and academic background are found as the decisive affecting factors for the intention to employment and business start-up of the self-sufficiency program participants.
